Privacy Policy

Aurora Algorithm Inc. (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an independent corporation registered under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, headquartered in Kanata (Ottawa), Ontario. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, processing, disclosure, and safeguarding of information across our websites (including auroraalgorithm.com and agentrulegen.com), our browser extensions (including TextClarifier), our companion mobile applications, firmware, and our ambient physical computing hardware platforms.

1. Fundamental Privacy & Data Minimization Principles

We believe your data belongs solely to you. Our commercial business model is strictly based on the sale of utility software tools and physical computing hardware. We do not monetize personal information, we do not sell or broker user data to third parties, and we do not deploy third-party advertising analytics or cross-site tracking surveillance scripts across our properties.

2. Apple HealthKit & Biometric Telemetry Isolation

For companion software applications and ambient physical hardware devices interfacing with the Apple Health platform (including our E-Ink Endurance Progress Tracker):

2.1 No Third-Party Sales or Brokering (App Store Guideline 5.1.1(ix)):

In strict compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(ix), HealthKit, workout telemetry, and athletic biometric metrics are NEVER sold, rented, licensed, or shared with third-party data brokers, advertising networks, marketing intermediaries, or data aggregators under any circumstances.

2.2 No Advertising, Behavioral Targeting, or Consumer Profiling:

Data retrieved from Apple Health is never used for advertising, behavioral targeting, cross-app tracking, consumer profiling, or market research.

2.3 Local On-Device Processing & Point-to-Point Local Sync:

Athletic metrics (such as weekly mileage, activity streaks, split pace, and race countdowns) read from Apple Health are processed entirely on-device on your iOS hardware. When synchronized with paired ambient e-paper displays, transmission occurs strictly over encrypted point-to-point local Wi-Fi (WPA2/TLS) or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). No workout telemetry is transmitted to, retained by, or analyzed on external cloud servers maintained by Aurora Algorithm Inc.

2.4 Revocation & Non-Volatile Memory Purging:

You retain full control to revoke Apple Health permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Health). Cached metric display buffers stored in local hardware non-volatile storage (NVS) can be completely purged at any time via a physical hardware button reset or by unpairing the device in the companion iOS application.

3. Browser Extensions (TextClarifier)

In compliance with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Policies, our extension TextClarifier operates strictly within the active browser tab on text explicitly selected by the user. All text analysis and reading transformations execute locally in memory within your client browser session. We do not log, record, intercept, store, or transmit your browsing history, webpage URLs, form inputs, keystrokes, or document contents.

4. Developer Web Applications (AgentRuleGen)

Configuration presets, system prompt directives, and code architecture rules generated on AgentRuleGen are processed entirely client-side in the browser and stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (localStorage). We do not require account creation, and we do not store, harvest, or transmit your proprietary software rules or engineering prompt templates to remote servers.

5. Information We Collect and Process

5.1 Voluntary Communications: When you initiate direct correspondence with us via email (e.g., to contact@auroraalgorithm.com), we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your inquiry solely for the purpose of responding to your questions and providing technical support.

5.2 Ephemeral Server Logs: When accessing our web properties, our web servers and content delivery networks (CDNs) may record standard technical connection metadata (such as IP addresses, browser user-agent headers, and request timestamps) strictly for operational security, rate limiting, and DDoS defense. These logs are retained only temporarily and are never combined with personal profiles.

5.3 No Third-Party Tracking Pixels: We do not deploy third-party marketing cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site retargeting beacons.

6. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR & UK GDPR)

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, our legal bases under Article 6 and Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) include:

  • Contractual Necessity: To deliver requested software utilities, companion apps, and hardware functionality under our Terms of Service.
  • Legitimate Interests: To maintain server security, prevent fraudulent abuse, diagnose technical faults, and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Explicit Consent: Where you provide explicit consent within your operating system (such as iOS HealthKit permissions).
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with statutory corporate, tax, and regulatory obligations.

7. Canadian Privacy Compliance (PIPEDA & CASL)

In accordance with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we adhere to the 10 Fair Information Principles: Accountability, Identifying Purposes, Consent, Limiting Collection, Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention, Accuracy, Safeguards, Openness, Individual Access, and Challenging Compliance. We do not send unsolicited commercial electronic messages (CEMs). You have the right to request access to or correction of your personal information held in our business records.

8. International Privacy Rights (GDPR & UK GDPR)

If you reside in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you hold the following statutory rights under the GDPR:

Right of Access & Portability:Request confirmation of processing and obtain a portable copy of your personal data.
Right to Rectification & Erasure:Request correction of inaccurate records or permanent erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”).
Right to Restriction & Objection:Restrict processing or object to processing founded on legitimate interests.
Right to Lodge a Complaint:Lodge a complaint with your local EU Supervisory Authority or the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. California Consumer Privacy Disclosures (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA, Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.):

No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: Aurora Algorithm Inc. does not sell personal information, nor do we share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Consumer Rights: California residents have the right to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected, request deletion, request correction, and enjoy the right to non-discrimination for exercising their privacy rights.

10. Protection of Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our websites, applications, and hardware products are designed for general audiences and are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us immediately for prompt deletion.

11. Data Security & Storage Architecture

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards, including TLS 1.3 cryptographic transport protocols, to protect information. Because our architecture prioritizes local on-device processing, we minimize the accumulation and retention of personal data.

12. Cookies & Local Storage Technology

Our websites do not use tracking or targeting cookies. We use functional browser localStorage solely to remember your interface display preferences (such as dark/light theme mode) and your unsaved configuration templates in client-side developer utilities.

13. Policy Updates & Notifications

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological advancements, hardware firmware updates, or legal requirements. The updated version will be indicated by the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Continued use of our products after revisions constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
